We recently did a photo exchange with Ryerson University, Toronto. Essentially, we exchanged photographs! (surprisingly). The University of Brighton have kindly put my photograph up on the website.
‘In April 2012, students at the School of Image Arts, Ryerson, Toronto, invigilated a gallery space over four days to showcase the Brighton and Toronto groups’ projects on two large screens. They got plenty of positive feedback and interest.
There are some tangible differences as well as strong crossovers within the bodies of work. Overall, the Canadians’ work is lighter, more playful and often commercial. The Brighton students’ work is infused by a strong narrative element and tends to be a bit darker. ’
