I’ve been crafting!

I sanded, painted and decorated the nest of tables with a collage of flowers, fruit and butterflies (which were from some old 2010 Red Cross calendars). I used old picture frames to create the chalkboards (which are also magnetic!), and used shrunk jumpers to make the flower brooches - the bunting was from a carboot sale this morning :)

I’ve made them all to sell in the charity shop i’m running (a British Red Cross shop). All proceeds will go to the Red Cross obvs - I don’t make any profit from selling these.

They were so fun to make, can’t wait to sell them!

So on the birthday present front…i’m running about 2 weeks late. I’ve finally sorted out my friend Amy’s birthday present - some lovely bright wool (she’s started knitting!).

I wrote her a birthday letter (instead of a card because it was so late!) on handmade pink paper, with hand cut hearts inside and sealed the envelope with pink rose scented wax! I think i need to get a pen pal…..(or a life).

I had a go at Furoshiki (Japanese Knot Wrapping) to wrap her present. Furoshiki is the best thing ever! I used a vintage scarf so it looks super pretty and theres no need for paper and tape etc - so its completely reusable wrapping!

Just had to share these little gems by Dalton Ghetti. A carpenter by trade, he began creating sculptures out of pencils 25 years ago after wanting to challenge himself by carving tiny objects. He spends up to two-and-a half years painstakingly crafting each handmade piece on the graphite of a pencil. He uses three basic tools – a razor blade, a sewing needle and a sculpting knife. One of the most fascinating things about these works of art is that he has never sold them, but rather only given away to friends as gifts. Amazing. Check him out if you haven’t already!

Brighton Beach Finds

I’ve been photographing things I find on Brighton beach! Some objects were left there, some objects were washed up by the waves.

The objects represent a whole range of emotions for me - in particular Angela Bird’s urn. I have no idea who she was or anything about her, i’m curious about her story though!

I made my own chalkboard for my charity shop! It was really easy to make & looks pretty in the shop too….<3

A door knob that shows you the room on the other side of the door?! magic!

So…..since when was Ricky Gervais completely gorgeous?!

I love Karl Pilkington. He look’s like an orange!
